How my journey began
Hi there, I'm Cortney, a dedicated registered psychotherapist with a deeply personal commitment to supporting individuals on their path to mental health and emotional wellness.
My journey into the world of psychotherapy began during my adolescent years when I grappled with anxiety, just as many of us do. At that time, mental health conversations were often hushed, and resources were scarce. Determined to make a difference, I embarked on an educational journey, majoring in psychology during my undergraduate and graduate studies. My goal was clear—to gain insights into these challenges and ultimately empower others, particularly young individuals, with the tools to manage and thrive.
In my practice today, I embrace an integrative approach to psychotherapy. While my focus is on cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), renowned for its effectiveness in addressing a wide array of mental health concerns such as anxiety, depression, and trauma, I also incorporate mindfulness-based techniques. These holistic strategies promote self-awareness and self-compassion, fostering lasting transformation.
Within the safe and nurturing space of my therapy practice, I create an environment that is entirely focused on your unique needs and aspirations. I firmly believe that the most profound therapeutic changes emerge when you feel heard, understood, and respected. You can expect unwavering support and nonjudgmental guidance throughout our shared journey.
As your therapist, my ultimate goal is to empower you to overcome life's challenges, equip you with new coping mechanisms, and guide you toward a richer, more meaningful life. I eagerly anticipate the opportunity to work alongside you, providing unwavering support on your path to greater emotional well-being.
